Private viewing of The Barber Institute of Fine Arts
The first KESPA event of the school year is a private tour of Birmingham’s hidden gem, The Barber Institute of Fine Arts, on Thursday, 12 October 2017.
The Barber Institute, located opposite King Edward's School on the University of Birmingham campus, contains one of the finest small collections of European art in the UK. The collection includes examples of work by many artists including Botticelli, Giovanni Bellini, Veronese, Rubens, Van Dyck, Poussin, Claude, Gainsborough, Turner, Ingres, Manet, Monet, Degas, Van Gogh, Gauguin and Magritte.
All parents of pupils at King Edward's School are invited to come along and learn what lies behind these paintings during a relaxed and informal event, where there will also be the opportunity to mix and mingle with other parents.
Refreshments will also be available.
