What we do
We run workshops, masterclasses, concerts and competitions for primary schools across Birmingham, both in the state and private sector. The aim is to challenge able children under the age of 11 across the city, and raise expectations. In 2015-16, over 11,000 children came into contact with King Edward's School through the outreach programme and we were proud to receive the award for Best Independent-Maintained School Partnership at the TES Independent School of the Year awards in December 2015.
A number of the activities we offer can be seen in these pages. Our programme involves the entire King Edward's School community, with over 50 teachers and 300 boys getting involved. It is constantly in flux, as teachers, King Edward's School boys and primary schools that we work with have bright ideas and we put them into practice.
Over 140 schools from across Birmingham are currently in conversation with us about how we can work with them through the outreach programme. We do not charge for any of these activities, except for the training programmes, where costs are spread equally between all participating schools. Please join in!
