Entrance exam day
For parents whose sons are registered for the entrance examination:
Boys need to be at the school by 9.30am at the latest. The exam will create a good deal of extra traffic, of course, and you will need to allow plenty of time for the journey. Click here for directions to the school.
You may find it more convenient not to arrive by car but to use the excellent local public transport. The X61, 63 and 144 buses run very regularly along the Bristol Road; alight by the Bournbrook Fire Station and take the road opposite. The school is just 100 yards away on the right up Edgbaston Park Road. Alternatively, University Station on the Cross City Line is just 10 minutes' walk away with trains at least every 10 minutes from New Street. Turn left when you emerge from the station, walk straight across the university campus and the school is directly opposite.
If you do arrive by car, you must enter by the Edgbaston Park Road gate and there will be a one-way system in operation that will require you to leave via King Edward VI High School for Girls.
