King Edward's School Home

An independent day school for boys aged 11 to 18

Rock climbing

Rock climbing is both a mental and a physical challenge: brute force might get you up one small step, but to complete the climb you need to plot the use of arms and legs, figure out places where you can rest, learn to push as well as pull.

In addition to the challenge of the climb boys need to team up to belay (hold the safety rope) for each other, under the very watchful gaze of the qualified and experienced instructors.

We operate two climbing weekends each year to meet the demand from the boys, travelling to venues in the Peak District and Snowdonia National Parks.
