Basketball

Basketball at King Edward's School has enjoyed a long and successful history. We have been national champions and won numerous local league and cup trophies. Year on year we enter four teams into the ESBBA National Schools Competition as well as the West Midlands Cup and Birmingham League. We currently run U12, U14, U15, U16 and U19 teams and train after school everyday.

Specialist basketball coaches oversee the five teams and ensure that the best use is made of the two hour sessions. Fixtures are frequent with games occurring once a week for U15, U16 and U19 teams. Though the finals occur in March and signal the end of the season there are sessions run throughout the summer term in order to retain skill level and team play. There is also an Old Edwardian league team where former pupils play.
